PowerPlay girls from Middle School 88 were excited to be invited to Education Day at the Barclays Center. The girls were the first group invited into the stadium for a court side experience to watch the Long Island Nets warm-up. Some of our girls even were able to flag over and talk to Justin Anderson #10! From the court side the girls were able to great form for dribbling and shooting at various positions on the court. As a team we talked about how we could work on some of our own form. Just before the doors opened we moved to our game day seats which were 4 rows from the court!

We still had a great view of all the players once the game started. At education day, math, science, geography, and sports questions were asked and two of our girls actually had a moment of fame answering one question on the Jumbotron! After a slow start, the Long Island Nets finally kicked it into gear and won the game with flying colors!! We even got to see Kevin Durant by the court supporting his G League Team of the NBA Brooklyn Nets. At the end of the game we headed back to the school with enough time for the girls to play and bond in the park. All in all we had a great experience and look forward to more opportunities for our girls to see what professional basketball looks like!
