Kicking off our day of excitement on June 9 at the STARS Citywide Girls Leadership Summit will be none other than MTV’s Girl Code and Hot 97’s prime time 3-7PM radio personality, Nessa, one of the nation’s pre-eminent pop culture hosts.

Nessa not only gets what STARS is all about, she’s a strong female with a strong following on national TV, radio, and digital platforms. Before her current job in NYC for Hot 97, Nessa started in SF as an intern and was promoted to hosting her own show in SF (Market 4) and nationally on the iHeartRadio Premium choice network heard on top ten markets including LA, and Boston along with 25 other markets. Nessa is proud to be an influential female voice in what traditionally has been a male dominated media market. “I want to inspire other females to kick ass in media, that is so important to me!” Nessa has parlayed her radio success into a TV career as a full time member of the MTV family. Using her quick, spontaneous wit and pop culture knowledge, you can catch her on a number of shows on MTV including the flagship “Girl Code”, The Real World, Teen Mom, Snooki and J Woww, and more. Nessa has also made hosting appearances for the MTV VMA Red Carpet Pre-Show and the MTV “Woodie Awards” live at the SXSW Music Conference.

Best known for her funny and “in your face” style for artist interviews, Nessa has over 10 million views on her YouTube channel, as well as an additional 25 million views from radio station web sites. With her quirky interview appeal that was beyond the standard artist interview, Nessa has caught the likes and interview requests of Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Big Sean, Chris Brown and several others.

Nessa’s thought-leading exposure and social media influence has also landed her several key corporate endorsements including Walmart, Pepsi, Miller Coors, Kit Kat, and Monster Electronics. Tune into Nessa on Hot 97 and Hot97.com weekdays from 3-7PM, and catch her on MTV regularly with Girl Code, and many other shows.

We’re so pumped to have our day be that much better because of yet another female powerhouse!
