On Monday, December 9, 2019, PowerPlay’s Junior Board held its inaugural event to introduce friends and colleagues to PowerPlay and raise crucial funds to help sustain our work. Graciously hosted by Athleta, members and their guests enjoyed either a Pilates or bodyART class, networking, healthy food and drinks (including Flora Wines, The Fruit Guys, Branch to Box, Kind bars, and Sweet Vegan Chocolate), a chance to win raffle prizes, and holiday shopping for high-end Athleta merchandise offered at an exclusive 20% discount.
Huge thanks to Athleta for having us and for being such a supportive partner of ours for many years. Another big thank you to our Board member, Paul Aversano, of Alvarez & Marsal, for providing a match for all of the event proceeds. Before the match, the event raised $2,680—all of which will support PowerPlay’s work providing transformative sports-based after-school and summer programs for girls across all five NYC boroughs.
