Empower Her Showcase

On Tuesday, August 6th, the amazing young women of PowerPlay’s Youth Leadership Council (YLC) hosted a 100% Youth-Led empowerment event that served to educate their peers on gender equality, while providing a platform for youth to share their own experiences. The day consisted of interactive stations that tested the attendees’ knowledge of their rights as women, as well as the various ways in which gender inequality presents itself.

Attendees also flexed their creative muscles and used art as a form of Activism to repel Gender inequality. The most awe-inspiring part of the program was the performances. Youth were treated to a wide array of powerful spoken word pieces that were received with rousing applause.
