STARS CGI Breakfast Dialogue: Championing Female Leadership: The Power of Public/Private Partnerships

The nine partners of the Sports Training and Role-models for Success Citywide Girls Initiative (STARS CGI) have been eager to bring together VIPS/Key Stakeholders from both the public and private sectors to showcase how our collaborative has successfully leveraged public support to engage partners that also promote the collective leadership of girls across New York City.

On March 26, 2019, PowerPlay hosted the first-ever STARS CGI Breakfast Dialogue: Championing Female Leadership: The Power of Public/Private Partnerships to coincide with Women’s History Month. This was the first of what PowerPlay hopes to be an annual event to engage members of the New York City Council Women’s Caucus and with other relevant professionals.

Esteemed panelists representing the public and private sectors included Diana Falvo, Senior Vice President of CCS Fundraising; Hon. Carlina Rivera, Councilmember for NYC District 2 and Women’s Caucus Co-Chair; Rehana Farrell, Executive Director of Youth INC.; Jeannette Rodriguez, Head of Government and Public Affairs at Nike, Inc.; and Caitlin McSherry, Assistant Vice President at State Street Bank. PowerPlay’s President and CEO, Vivian Santora, moderated the panel.
