This month’s shout out goes to one of our awesome volunteer coaches, Ashley Chapparo. We took some time to pick her brain on what volunteering means to her. Check out her response below:
“Volunteering is important because it allows us to be a part of something greater than ourselves. It allows us to help others and lend a hand, like others have done for us. Every volunteer experience is unique and allows us to learn new things and share experiences with people we would have otherwise never met.”
Besides coaching at P.S. 76 in Queens, Ashley is a part of the “Out in Two” scholarship club at the Borough of Manhattan Community College in which she volunteers her time in various programs such as “Meals on Wheels.” Ashley leads by example and lives out her commitment to service. That’s why we’re proud to have her on our team.
